Hazeltine is recognized as a leader in the game of golf worldwide. The Hazeltine Golf Foundation has been formed to support amateur national championships as well as to preserve and protect the heritage of the club. Our excellent facilities have played host to 13 championships over the past 44 years. We have another two championships coming over the next eight years. Championships have elevated Hazeltine’s status as one of the elite venues in championship golf. We need to ensure we can support future amateur championships and protect, preserve, and display the resulting history.
The creation of the Hazeltine Golf Foundation will support these initiatives. First, the Foundation will promote and foster national and international amateur golf development and competitions. Through fully tax-deductible contributions, funding will be generated to support amateur golf championships. The United States Amateur in 2024 and any future national or international amateur golf competitions will be eligible to receive support from the Foundation.
Secondly, the Foundation is also designed to preserve and enhance the history and heritage of Hazeltine National Golf Club, a non-profit organization. As a promoter of the sport of golf as a healthy lifestyle for all individuals and families, the Foundation helps develop personal life skills such as integrity and self-reliance. Many of you have worked hard to build our legacy. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the Foundation to support the heritage of our club.
You can support the Foundation in any way you would like. You can donate cash, stocks, bonds, or almost any type of property desired. We will convert it to cash and give you a charitable deduction for the full value. There are three designated areas you can direct your donation. There is a fund to support amateur golf championships such as the U.S. Amateur Championship. The second fund is to preserve and protect our heritage. Finally, there is an unrestricted fund which the Board of the Foundation can designate to either of these purposes.
Thank you for your consideration.
