Hazeltine has one of the best practice facilities in the country and is consistently named one of the Top 50 Private Golf Range Facilities by Golf Range Association of America. Comprising nearly 1.7 acres, the facility includes a 2-sided driving range, short game facility, and 2 putting greens. The north driving range totals approximately 50,000 square feet and features a bent grass fairway with 6 target greens canted from both sides. The south end of the range has 5 targets, as well as an area reserved for junior golf.

The short game facility has 3 bunkers and a bent grass area perfect for practicing shots from right off the green to 30-40 yard pitch shots. The wedge range has 2 greens with a bent grass middle and is perfect for all shots inside 100 yards. The primary putting green has an 11,000 square foot surface and simulates many of the slopes found on the course.

Long Minnesota winters don’t come between our members and their game. Our extensive indoor Learning Center is open year-round and features two golf simulators, contoured putting green, and lounge area. The Ping Performance Studio, located within the Learning Center, is reserved for professional club fittings and expert golf instruction.

Mike Barge Golf Instruction

Director of Instruction Mike Barge is a 2-time Minnesota PGA Teacher of the Year and has appeared on Golf Digest’s Best Teachers in Minnesota list 6 times. He has played in 5 Senior Major Golf championships (2 Senior PGA Championships and 3 US Senior Opens) and is also the 2006 MN State Open champion and 2005 MN Senior State Open champion. Mike also played college golf at Southern Methodist University where he was a teammate of the late Payne Stewart, the 1999 U.S. Open Champion.

However, Mike takes as much pride in his teaching as he does his playing. It's that mindset that helped earn him a place in the Minnesota (2019) and North Dakota (2012) Golf Hall of Fame. Golf instruction is a "family business" for Mike. His Mom is also a member of the North Dakota Golf Hall of Fame where she was an instructor and the women's golf coach at North Dakota State University.

From instructing juniors and adults to The Hazeltine Experience, there are many opportunities to learn from one of the best.
